6. Use a #54 drill bit to drill three holes
in the stack, all of the way through. Locate the holes
as shown. Use lubricant while drilling through the
tool steel. Use a very slow speed on the drill because
if you heat the steel during the drilling, it will quickly
become harder than the drill!
7. Remove the tape and separate the stack. Notice
that the stack can now be reassembled only one way.
Even though the order can be changed, the orientation
has to remain the same for the holes to line-up.
8. Set the acrylic to one side. Use a #52 drill to
make the holes in the other plates larger. This will
enable the plates to be slid on and off of the pins
readily.
9. De-burr all of the holes./
10. Now, saw out the blanking die, using the appropriate
angle, based upon the thickness of the FGTDS.
