Clamp the stripper plate to the back side of the bottom plate, carefully aligning the edges. Use a #52 drill and drill through both plates as shown (Fig. 5-09). Offset each hole from the edge of the punch so that the tangent point of the hole is 1/16" (2mm) away. Try to stay as close as possible to prevent damaging the part when it is pushed off of the punch.

Remove stripper plate and punch from the bottom plate and enlarge the holes in the bottom plate to 5/64".

Chamfer the #52 holes in the stripper plate on the back side for a "solder well". Cut a matching number of 5/16" long pins from 1/16"brazing rod, insert into the stripper plate so that they are flush with theback side, and solder in place.
