Another synclastic bracelet

I finally get a chance to start practicing with my synclastic bracelet tools. The instructions say to: Do not allow wrinkles to form. As a newby to forming (I've read every post here, great forum), this seems to be my biggest problem so far.  So far I am just wrecking sheets of copper practice metal, 26 ga.

I had been pressing the bracelet with the first tool, using about 6-8 starting presses, then hammering the wrinkles flat, until the bracelet was formed with the first tool.

I will try thicker and thinner gauge metals, pressing in smaller steps, just lots more pressings; and any other changes that are suggested. I'm going to go cut more blanks for tomorrow.

Preventing wrinkles is one of those skills that will develop with practice, but I'm burning through some copper here, and would appreciate a nudge in the right direction

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,
I'm pretty sure that the instructions also mention that thicker metal wrinkles less.  So, a large part of the problem you are having is the metal you are using.  The thinner the metal, and the wider the metal, the more difficult it is to avoid wrinkles.  Also, work along the edges first, and then move toward the center.
I hope this helps!
