Re^4: What about "O" Rings for guide rings?

Well, I guess I'll be trying this next, since the wax wire guides I used today were neither more nor less successful than drawing without guides.  The good news is that there was no problem with them getting stuck.  The bad news is that they did not help with the uneven thickness problem.

On the other hand, I realize now that I did not check the thickness until the fourth draw.  I wonder if it might be good to go back to using a torque wrench on the first draw with the MDS to make sure that things are REALLY even right from the first draw --for  work that even thickness is important, (such as when sections are being cut for making rings).

Yvonne, do you have a digital caliper, or micrometer that you can use to check the thicknesses of the walls of the things you've been doing with the Jett Set guides?

I guess I'm off to the hardware store for o-rings now.  I'll report as soon as I can.
