Phil, this sure is exciting stuff!  Were there intermediary dies and annealings that you did not show in that photo, as Lee's post implies?  If so, how many?

Lee's post has me thinking about the implications.  I'm now curious to know how tubing is currently made in industry.  Do you know how this is different? eg. process?  size and cost of equipment?  more expedient? more flexible in terms of gauges?

It looks like it will be a less expensive and more manageable piece of equipment, that individual jewelers and  small manufacturers could afford so that they could custom make tubing for their individual needs, in terms of gauge and  materials?

I'm thinking about how hard my students and I often have to search the catalogs and phone refiners for large and/or thick walled tubing.  Someone could buy one of these and set themselves up in business, selling custom-made tubing to jewelers and metalsmiths, in pretty short order, I think!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
