The offerings and dates are shown in the attachment. The costs for the two day event is $250, and the three day events cost $350. All include lunch. For those of you that want to "double up" and take two classes (the pairing of Phil's and Valentin's is pretty obvious), the combined cost would be $600.
There will be plenty of presses, tools that hardly ever get to the "out of town" classes, the opportunity to tour the machine shop, see how the tools and presses are made, and depending upon skills, be able to machine your own tools. We will be introducing some really new equipment that will see the light of day for the first time.
For those of you that gasped in Richmond VA when Phil turned the vessel "inside out" using the Volume & Form press, this is your chance to do the same.
Anne Hollerbach will be teaching the "full on" class in beginning Hydraulic Die Forming. If you took a class a few years ago, you probably need a tune-up. Almost everything that was state of the art ten years ago is almost hopelessly out of date. So many new developments have been made in the field, and so many marvelous inquisitive minds have been working with the press and we have become the repository of an incredible amount of information. Come join in the sharing.
Jack Berry will be teaching all of the latest developments using the micro-fold brake. We will be introducing a brand new version that will be capable of handling thicker metal. He will be using the press as well to show how the tools work in combination.
Cynthia Eid will be making Rings, Bracelets and Boxes using the 3" & 6" deep-draw sets. Be sure to bring your silver & gold for this one.
Phil Poirier will be working with the large Volume & Form press (we will have several presses available for use, something that simply cannot be done elsewhere). You will be able to form bowls, vessels, goblets, chargers, etc. Be sure to bring your silver.
Valentin Yotkov will be teaching his magic of Chasing on forms that will have been made on the Volume & Form press. If you choose to take both classes, you can make your forms, and then chase them. This is a marvelous pairing of two masters in their field and a rare opportunity to learn from them at the same time.
The above descriptions are just a brief synopsis of all that is going to be taught. We are still putting the information package together, so give us a couple of weeks to finalise the details.
