Whew! Now THAT was a trip! I had a bit of difficulty in communicating on the laptop. Would you believe that I was getting email as slow as 14.4? I didn't think that anything was that slow anymore. What with getting 50 slugs of spam everytime I opened up the laptop, along with 3-4 virus laden emails (klez and bugbear were the most common), downloading was pretty expensive.
The workshops went very well. In Sydney, about 1:30 in the afternoon of the last day, the group gathered around and politely told me to stop talking, as they had enough information and "get out of the way". The press handles turned into a blur at that point.
The skill level was very high. They had an excellent grasp of metalsmithing. Nobody had a clue of what a hydraulic press was for, and in a way, this made it easier, as I didn't have to break down already established ideas.
I think that I have them started off in a pretty good fashion, and I hope to be invited back again. They are having their version of the SNAG conference in Fubruary 2004, and I hope that we can get Phil invited to present a paper on deep-draw.
I met some incredible people over there. I will be posting some of their work as time permits (and I learn my new scanner).
Anyway, here is an image that I took with the digital camera.G'day folks
