Big Leaf Mold

Took all day setting up the model (sandcast aluminum forming module made from the clay model pictured in a recent post) in it's mold frame today. The mold frame is also the backing and housing that will support it in use in the press. The model sits in a recess created by cutting a hole just larger than the model in 1/2" acrylic. The acrylic is screwed to a 1/4" aum. plate and plastic steel is poured into the recess and over the model till it's level with the acrylic. Then I screwed a 1/2" alum. plate
on top of the acrylic , covering up the model and devcon, completely encasing it, except for sprue and riser-like vent holes.

Manana I'll flip it over and pull off the 1/4" plate and there will be the female half of the forming set for the leaf. The alum. model will come out and be screwed to the face of the cutting die and basically that will be IT.
Can't show the pix, sorry. Picture the baloon die , with a pastic steel female mold that it sits on, now enlarge it about 24 times and you get the idea.
