Phil , Thanks for all the input. As I was linking to your diagram, I was thinking about a method I had designed that's very similar. The main difference is that the copper would be pushed down into a cylindrical hole ala matrix.I'd
have a top block,too , with a hole in it to guide the punch, and toggle clamp to hold the blocks together,pinning the copper in place. I've been too busy the last few months to put them together .Also since I put so much time into getting it to work the way I did, I haven't been motivated to try anything else. I may use this method since I can do it here except for the punch. The 800 2" ones as practice for the 2 &1/2" size ones. The drawbacks of my existing way are inconsistency due to the urethane (I'm not using a solid dome shaped punch here) and the long time it takes the urethane to fill up (form) the bowl. Well, it's past my bedtime , the sun is almost out, so bye for now.........
