>The pins I showed were pressed in 22ga red brass. I have also used Sterling silver and nickle silver and also thicker metal. The metal was pressed into the die against a flat piece of hardened steel. Coining dies simply squeeze metal around rather than forming so to speak. I have thought about making two part embossing dies just to see how well it would work, but the time investment to design and engrave them just hasn't been available. However, I am asuming they could create larger pieces with less tonnage than a coining die requires. I will post some pictures as soon as I have time to take and organize them. Lately I have been working as one of Santas Elves. It's a living anyway.
