Here are three 22K 30g roundels that I made, uh, recently. [i.e. they've been around since September, but it's been busy... :-)] I did a bunch of practice ones in copper and fine silver first to get the knack of making the seam invisible in the final form. Then I did a couple in 22K to learn that 22K doesn't behave at all like you would expect it to -- it work hardens _very_ fast and it took many anneals to get correct closure at the center. I am "confirming" the folds with a horn hammer working over daps; the final overall doming is done with daps into urethane on the 20-ton press. They are very light for their size [well, considering they are gold] and unbelievably strong. These came from some experiments that Jack and I did in August when we started thinking about flat beads. Now I'm thinking about pendants and box lids. Cognitive drift, or something.
