 "Pancakes" was the reply , in a tone curious as to what else one could possibly use pancake molds for besides making pancakes. What, indeed?.

When we start using terms from other areas, there is the chance of confusion. "Flat as a pancake" would certainly push the press into new territory. I am aware of a couple of unusual applications for the press, ie:
flattening survival bisquits before baking (they are mixed very dry for maximum longevity, and are very difficult to smooth out).

cracking recalcitrant walnuts.

Does anybody have any others?
