Hopefully, most of you are aware of Phil's presentation at the
Santa Fe Symposium last year. His talk was primarily on the deep draw process, and was awarded the highest number of "points" of any talk that they ever had presented. As a result of the popularity of his talk, he has been invited back. His talk this year will be more general in nature, and he is soliciting images from other hydraulic die formers out there. Phil easily convinced me to offer some

To all readers of the Bonny Doon Forum: Call for entries for
publication,
A presentation will be made at the Santa Fe Symposium this year called
"A Survey of Hydraulic Forming".
We are looking for good quality photographs of hydraulic processes,
this
means any process (forming, coining, blanking, shaping, marking,
formbox, bending, or whatever!) where you use a hydraulic press for the
creation of jewelry. It can be either an old or new technique, quality
of photos is important. All entries will be considered for inclusion in
the presentation at the symposium, and will be included in the
hardbound
book "Santa Fe Symposium on Jewelry Manufacturing Technology 2003". The
3 best entries will also win $100 gift certificates from Bonny Doon
Engineering.  All photos used will be given full credit to the entrant
in both the presentation and the book.
Selection will be based on technique, and photo quality. No cost to
enter, enter with as many ideas as you want.
You can mail entries(slides prefered, 4X6 glossies OK) to Phil Poirier,
POBox 380, San Cristobal, NM 87564 or email them to :
poirier@newmex.com. Digital images should be at least 640X480 pixels,
jpg or tif files without compression, include a detailed description of
process.
