Both Phil Poirier, and Jim Binnion gave presentations that were extremely well received by everyone. Jim's was specifically oriented on Mokume (of course), and there was a lot of discussion dealing with some pretty esoteric aspects of metallurgy (way over my head). Many of the attendees had not encountered mokume before and he really opened their eyes.
Phil's talk covered the deep draw field from the beginnings in 1860 all of the way through to where we are now, with the tube drawing press. It appears that we may have struck a responsive chord with the higher volume production types with the heavy wall tube (5-1/2 ring size 12ga x 13" tall).
I am sure that both Phil and Jim will have more to add to this.
