PC7 for forming molds?

A customer of mine who does his own cutting (with my dies) and forming (with his dies) told me about this stuff , "PC-7", that's in hardware stores and is a lot cheaper bthan plastic steel. He says it lasts "practically forever". Any of youz know what this stuff is?.Le Dar
