>%The process is really of tremendous potential use in an industry like aircraft construction . Here every project is a short run or multiple units spread out over a faily long time ( a short run or one off at any given time). This was a little different during WW2. A completely programable flexible set where you can press one part and a few minutes later make a totaly different part without any manual setup changes is of fantastic value today. Savings in work in process inventory can justify a very expensive machine.
The concept has really huge problems in scaling down the size.
The value is in the cad-cam computer changed set up.
You can make limited use relatively low force dies with simple conventional proceedures or cad- cam milling much easier and cheaper -- set ups on a changeable system at small scale would be an insanity producing process.
