Bonny Doon Hydraulic Presses and Tooling was founded in Bonny Doon, California in 1990 and has been responsible for providing the finest engineered hydraulic presses and tooling for jewelers. In 2006 we moved our business to Taos, NM, and continue to develop new tools and presses for the metalsmithing community.

What do you want from a Hydraulic Press?

Safety, Rigidity, Engineering, Ease-of-Use, Options, Support

You have many choices when purchasing a Hydraulic Press. Which brand or model will suit your needs now and in the future?

Safety

The Bonny Doon Presses are the safest presses available. The springs are contained inside the upright columns and the orientation of the ram keeps the operator behind one column. We make several styles of tooling to contain all of the volatile pieces of your die and work.

Rigidity

The rigidity of a press frame translates into how much force gets applied to the workpiece. A rigid frame puts all of the force generated by the ram into the workpiece. Consequently, a less-than-rigid frame will put some of the force into frame flexure and not into the workpiece.

Engineering

The design and craftsmanship of the Bonny Doon press frame creates the most rigid frame available. The original design has been improved by using computer aided engineering software with the most recent additions of the MKIII and the new Classic.

Ease-of-Use

All of the Bonny Doon Press tooling is designed and built for ease-of-use. The easier it is to use the press the more work gets done.

Options

The entire line of tooling available is designed and built to last a lifetime. Only the very best materials and workmanship go into our tools and presses.

Support

Probably the most important part of your purchase is the support. Our support department has a combined total of over 40 years of experience with hydraulic forming of jewelry, and over 70 years of experience as silversmiths and goldsmiths. We can answer your questions, and if not, we'll do the research to help you with your new project.
